Harbor Springs -- The Traverse City Central boys and Traverse City Central last won the boys Class A title in 1999. Central edged defending state champion Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice and Traverse City Central for the win. Waterford United was right on their heels in fourth with 136, with scores of 93 in the giant slalom and 43 in the slalom. The Two-time defending Division 1 girls champion Traverse City West was fourth with 101. Rochester Adams was fifth with 205.5. Individually, White Lake Lakeland's Justin Janssen won the boys giant slalom championship with a combined time of 49.79. Traverse City West's Cody Aiken was second with 50:07. Traverse City Central's Maddy McLachlan was the girls slalom champion with a combined time of 1:08.09. Clarkston's Hannah Wolf won her second individual state championship, taking first in the girls giant slalom with a combined time of 47:83. McLachlan was second in 49.14. Petoskey runs away with both Division 2 state titles It was the second straight title for the boys team. Manistee won the morning slalom with 41 points. Petoskey was second in the giant slalom with 47 and Manistee third with 65. Petoskey was second in the afternoon slalom with 47 points to take the championship with 94 points. Harbor Springs was fourth in the slalom with 66 points to finish second overall with 104. Manistee was first in the slalom with 41 points to earn third overall with 106. Pontiac Notre Dame Prep was fourth with 144. Cadillac was fifth with 162. On the girls' side, Houghton Hancock grabbed the morning lead winning the giant slalom with 29 points. Petoskey was second with 33 and Pontiac Notre Dame Prep was third with 49. Petoskey came back in the afternoon to win the slalom with 43 points to win the overall title with 76 points. Houghton-Hancock was third in the slalom with 56 to finish second overall with 85 points. Notre Dame Prep was second in the slalom with 47 points to take third overall with 96 points. CH EJ was fourth with 143. Individually, Ironwood's Ryan Grenberg won the boys giant slalom with a combined time of 55.86. Harbor Springs' Ben Tolzdorf was second in 56.01. Cadillac's Carter Marsh won the boys slalom with a combined time of 1:02.97. Grenberg was second in 1:02.99. Houghton-Hancock's Samantha Henderson won the girls slalom in 1:06.34. Manistee's Katie Bramble was second in 1:07.54. Katherine Rowley won the girls giant slalom in 56.89. Notre Dame Prep's Natasha Kosik was second in 58.44. |
